Born in Elyria, Ohio, to Eugene and Mavis (Andrews) Wurm, Brenda grew up alongside her sisters Christine, Elizabeth “Betty,” and Susan—affectionately known as “The Wurm Girls.” A graduate of Vermilion High School, Brenda met her high school sweetheart, Robert Wayne Davis, whom she married. Together they had three children: Brian, Melanie, and Christopher. During Robert’s service in the Navy, the family lived in several locations. Brenda eventually made her home in Napoleon, Ohio. Teaching at St. Augustine School. Brenda dedicated over 20 years to teaching at St. Augustine School, where she also served as Director of Religious Education after earning her Master’s degree in Theology. In retirement, she continued her passion for education at Northwest State Community College, supporting adult learners. She found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she cheered on with her well-known “Whoop whoop!” Brenda is survived by her children, Brian and Shellie Davis (Defiance), Melanie Yarger (Bowling Green), and Christopher Davis (Weston); her grandchildren Brandon (Marissa) Weichers, Alyssa (Kyle) Williams, Nathan, Caleb, Hannah Yarger, Nicholas Yarger, Natalie Yarger, and Lillian Davis; as well as her great-grandchildren and many dear friends, including her beloved “church ladies.” She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Mavis and her sister Christine. Visitation will be held at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home on Sunday April 26, 2026 from 1-3 pm. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday April 27th. 2026 at St. Alyosius Catholic Church, Bowling Green, Ohio. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bridge Hospice. The family extends sincere thanks to the ICU staff at Wood County Hospital, her pulmonologist, and Bridge Hospice for their compassionate care.
